Consultation

Consultation & Estimate

We offer a free consultation and estimate! Meet with one of our experienced staff to walk through your project and discuss the scope of work. Share pictures, ideas, and any additional information to complete your vision. At no cost to you, we will provide a detailed written estimate within one week from consultation, depending on the size/scale of the project. Our estimate will be broken down by labor and material costs with itemized pricing alongside each category. This will provide insight on financial allocation, increasing your ability to make involved and informative decisions.

Contract

Once questions have been answered, necessary revisions have been made, and the estimate has been approved, we will provide a contract packet and payment schedule. We will agree upon a start and completion date and once we receive your initial deposit, we will execute the agreement.

Drawings, Plans & Permits

We will start by scheduling various meetings with you, which will include site measurements with our project managers, walkthroughs with relevant subcontractors and appointments to begin material selection. As we move closer to our start date, we will share updated plans and drawings. If building permits are necessary, our team will consult with the city or village on your behalf. We will work together with our building permit expeditor and consultant to ensure that all plans, documents and permits are submitted correctly. If you live in a condo building, we will work together with your condo management and building engineer to make sure that all policies are being met and shared with our team members and sub-contractors.

Construction

Within one week of our start date, we will schedule a time to meet on-site. We will walk through the construction space, review the final plans and material selections and discuss any known issues as well as potential obstacles. We typically take this time to allow you to meet the team members who will be in your home daily and advise on expectations.

Within 1-2 days of starting the actual work, we will begin to make deliveries and prepare the construction work areas. We will install temporary space safety devices like Zip Wall and Ram Board for protection. We will cover all carpet and/or hardwood floors from entry to construction work area, provide foot coverings for all contractors and/or service providers and cover all intake and exhaust floor and wall vents. We’re meticulous with protecting your building and your apartment during the renovation process. Our careful planning and diligence are paramount to keeping projects on track at this stage. While almost every project has unique site conditions, our team is adept at thoughtful problem-solving and turning issues into opportunities.

Change Orders

From perplexing to painless! While we work diligently to go to contract with a well-defined scope of work, change orders are a normal part of almost every construction project. There are often parts of the scope of work that are assumed or just unknown until we start construction. It is our objective to avoid change orders or any additional charges or overages. We understand that each job has a budget, and it is our priority to stay at or under the budget. When change orders are required for extra or less work, we work hard to provide solutions that make sense so we can make quick decisions.

Communication is Key

We believe that our full commitment to excellence in project execution is based around communication. It is the most important part of any project! While we are working, we ask that you take part in weekly or bi-weekly meetings to walk through the space and discuss progress objectives and remaining work. If one or more parties cannot be present, we are always available for video conferencing calls at your convenience.

Project Completion

Project execution means that we’re only finished when you are completely satisfied. Upon project completion approaching, we will correspond on punch lists, final orders and deliveries and the remaining scope of work. Our team will work relentlessly to meet and exceed your expectations. Upon completion, both the Owner and the Contractor will schedule a final walk-thru to sign off on the project, schedule final cleaning and celebrate!

Upon successful completion of your project, we always request to schedule a final photo shoot. This allows us to showcase our work with others and have professional photos taken by members of our marketing team.
